A lot of people have never used a deep fryer but deep fried food is a wonderful treat that most of us love to savor from time to time. Deep-frying is actually an easy cooking method when you know how to do it and a deep fat fryer is the safest and cleanest way of deep-frying your food.

How to Deep Fry Food

It is important to read the deep fryer instructions carefully because different fryers work in different ways. You will also need to have the correct oil to cook with because oils need different cooking times and the results vary depending, which oil you use.

You need to pour the oil into the fryer, making sure it is well below the max fill line. If there is not a max, fill line, check the fryer instructions. You need to have enough oil so your food is immersed under it but not too much because the food displaces some of the oil and you do not want it to spill over the sides.

Set the temperature by pushing the right button or turning the knob. If your fryer does not tell you when the oil is hot enough, use a thermometer to test it or drop a cube of crustless bread into the oil. If it is golden brown after one minute, the oil is ready.

If the oil is too hot, the food will be cooked on the outside and still partially raw inside. If the oil is not hot enough, the food will soak it up and come out soggy.

Put the food into the fryer, using a slotted spoons or tongs if there is no basket in the fryer. Do not put too much food in at once because this cooking method is fast and cooking in batches is quick and easy.

Brush off as many ice crystals as you can, if you are frying frozen food, because they can cause spattering when added to hot oil. Close the lid of the fryer if it has one. Watch the clock because deep-frying is quick. Remove the cooked food with the slotted spoon or basket when it is done and drain the food on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Recipes for Deep Fried Chicken

Chicken is one of the most popular foods for deep-frying because this cooking method gives such great results. Homemade deep fried chicken is just as good as anything you might get from a Kentucky Fried Chicken fast food restaurant and it is so much more cost effective and convenient to make your own.

Also, you are not limited to the KFC side dishes at home. You can make whatever side dishes you like, perhaps potato wedges and salad or mashed potatoes and gravy.

If you love Kentucky Fried Chicken, a deep fryer will be your best friend because you can make delicious fried chicken recipes whenever you want to, in the comfort of your own home. Deep-frying is a safe and simple cooking method and the results come out perfectly.
